# Connected Buildings: the WiredScore...

In Buildings Magazine (2Q24), we learned about an agency called [WiredScore](https://wiredscore.com/) which was founded in 2013 that certifies properties based upon its 'connected' score based upon four primary categories:

Mobile & Internet: outstanding connectivity in place to occupiers throughout a building

Setup: People can connect to the internet quickly and easily (i.e. hassle-free)

Future-Ready: The building can accommodate new and emerging technologies to meet the requirements o occupiers well into the future

Resiliency: the building is resilient against outages, cyber attacks or climate change.

 We love that users can connect to the internet easily, but who is paying attention to ensuring its life safety systems are working as designed. why are life safety and sprinkler system maintenance so often an after-thought to these trendy lists? GetSalamander.com
